On 18th November Lower School children took part in Project Paddington to raise awareness and money for the refugee crisis. We read the story of Paddington Bear and recognised his experience as similar to the refugee families who have to leave their home and countries and travel to a new place with very little belongings. We thought about what refugees might need and brought in some money to school to give to these families.
Throughout the day the children all wrote a prayer for the refugee families and accompanied by their own teddies, who came to school for the day, took part in a wide range of fun teddy themed activities including cake decorating, making a Paddington and sharing stories.
The day raised over £50!
