Classical Easter Concert

On Saturday 4th April five local highly accomplished operatic singers and musicians put on a Classical Easter concert in aid of the School. The concert was hosted by Long Lane Methodist Church in Wavertree, which was an excellent venue with delightful acoustics.

Donations were in excess of £800 and the audience was privileged to be entertained by a powerful and varied programme. The first half of the concert was performed in daylight and contained performances of well known pieces such as: Deh Vieni Non Tardar (Le Nozze de Figaro), Pie Jesu, and a beautiful duet of He Shall Feed His Flock (Messiah).

After an interval where refreshments were served in the church hall, the light went down and we were wowed by Handel, Debussy and Verdi, as well as an exceptional rendition of The Doll Aria (Tales of Hoffman).

Photographs of singers: Heather Heighway (Soprano), Stephanie Guidera (Mezzo Soprano), and David Palmer (Baritone).

The pianists were, Kirsty Ligertwood and Caitlin Mbewe.
