Welcome to Mrs. Merrrsion

I am an ex-pupil of CFS and currently one of its newest members of staff!
I joined CFS as a six year old back in the day when school consisted of two classrooms in the basement of Devonshire Road. I was in Miss Lord's class. I remember her keeping us entertained with a vanishing ball and paper bag trick! I also remember her reading Stig of the Dump, which had us enthralled.

After CFS, I went to St. Margarets to do A-levels and then to Liverpool Hope University to do teacher training. Five years teaching in a Bootle primary school were challenging but very rewarding. The training there would help with the career change to come.

2003 saw me marry Ian (whom I’d met via a church mission to Kyrgyzstan) and leave my job to volunteer for the KidzKlub ministry at my church, Frontline, which reaches out to inner city kids. The following year, I became the schools worker for KidzKlub, going into primary schools across Liverpool, taking their assemblies. It was a real priviledge to be able to share God’s love with the children of Liverpool.

Then full circle! I was asked to come into CFS to do some assemblies and I enjoyed myself so much that a few weks later, I was at an interview for the position of Year 2 Teacher. It’s really great to back in teaching again and back at CFS after all these years. The pupils were a little confused at first as I went from being called Jenny (from KidzKlub) to Mrs Merrison. However, they all adjusted quickly!

Thanks so much for the warm welcome!
