For the past three years CFS has been running an exchange for year 9 and 10 with a school called Jacobus Fruytier in Apeldoorn, Netherlands. In June this year my class (yr 10) went over to the Netherlands and spent four days with our exchange class from the Jacobus Fruytier School. We went over to the Netherlands with Miss Lord and Mr Greaves, and stayed in twos & threes with different host families from the class.
Over the four days we had a great time experiencing the Dutch culture and spending time at another Christian school. On two of the days we had lessons at the school with the Dutch students, which were interesting. We also visited some places around Apeldoorn and experienced new and fun activities, like punting!
I really enjoyed the exchange with Jacobus Fruytier because I got to go abroad for the first time, try new things and I was able to get to know a different culture to the one I live in. It was also great going away with my class and being able to spend more time together. We were able to get to know each other better and try new things together as a group which was lots of fun.
