Pupils ranging from Y4 to Y11 were once again competing to play in the Mega Finals for the British Land Chess Tournament (as was explained in the previous blog). So this year, on the 2nd May, 7 pupils from CFS travelled to Manchester to earn their places in the Giga Finals.
Each player had 6 matches; for a win 1 point was given, for a draw half a point, with no points for a loss. Four points were needed to get through to the next round of the competition.
Unfortunately, none of the pupils from CFS managed to progress to the Giga Finals. Nonetheless, a very special well done goes to:
Thank you also to Mr Greaves who organized the trip and Mrs Sharples who accompanied them on the trip.
