School Grounds Maintenance

On Saturday 1st of June a work party of staff, parents and pupils met at CFS to work on two tasks.

The first was to prepare ground for planting wild flower seeds from the National Wildflower Centre during a recent Year 8 visit. The wild flower seeds were donated by Faith4Change with funding from Mersey Forest.

The second activity was to deal with the long-standing matter of disposing of a very large pile of branches from some major tree surgery that had been done the previous Autumn. The team spent 4 hours preparing mulch, firewood and clearing leaves and bracken. Then at the end of the time the remaining debris was burnt in an enormous bonfire. Everyone went home exhausted, happy and smelling of bonfire smoke! Thank you to the 8 volunteers who accomplished so much.
